Yeah, I suppose it has nothing to do with the fact that it peaked about a month before CMM did and has received virtually no promo in the past 3-4 months (whereas CMM has gotten promo from the Olympics Swimming Team and Glee).

And again... Gotye reached the 6M mark six weeks faster than Carly did. It's an undeniable FACT that his song sold more in less time.
Besides, what's the point of subtracting the remix sales, anyway? The people who bought the Tiesto remix were still paying money for Gotye's song, so why shouldn't they count?
It's like, dude... all the numbers point to "Somebody" being the bigger hit, and it doesn't matter how much you try to discredit its success.
Besides, it's an awesome song and it definitely deserved to get as big as it did.
