A major label artist charting outside the Top 20 is flopping in the UK. It's a smaller but still expensive market compared to the USA. Sales of just 10,000 singles sold is crap. Check It Out sold decent, but had Nicki been a local artist, she'd have been dropped definitely.
Her UK team saved her UK career by helping promote Where Them Girls At, and releasing a budget-priced UK edition of the album with Super Bass on it. The budget re-release sold 265,000 copies in the last year, because its only £3 for 14 tracks.
Anyway, her UK label only release her pop and dance tracks here, and I indirectly consult for Universal Music UK via Song People, so know that's not going to change.
Automatic, Marilyn Monroe and Whip It are being lined up as UK singles anyway, and PF:RR is being re-issued.
