This is such a dissapointment. The vocals on the chorus are extremely lacking and horribly mixed. I expected much more after hearing the AMAZING live version. Shame.
And let me ask this: What happened to her versatile vocals? I mean listen for example to Maneater, Promiscuous, Say It Right and In God's Hands. The vocals of these songs sound so different from each other but they are still undeniable Nelly Furtado vocals.
Now listen to Big Hoops, Spirit and Parking Lot. All three songs use the same type of her voice - the voice that most people find nasal. Only "Something" sounds a bit different because it is mainly made of low tones and produced by different producer.
After reading most of the comments about Parking Lot I prepared myself to be disappointed...BUT I love it. To be honest it won't be a hit or anything and I have no clue why it's the US single to lead the album. But it's a very fresh, cute and fun summer track.

This may be the final version......it's on sinternet in the new music section. I think it's the monotonous beat that makes it sound unfinished. it also needs more vocal layers.

It's mainly the vocals that are all over the place and need some serious mixing. The song really sounds like an unfinished demo.
You guys need to go and spam Interscope on twitter, because this is getting out of hand. I refuse to believe an experienced producer such a Darkchild, and big label such a Interscope, would let this song out as "official version", because I find it impossible that this is final mix.
About track, I adore the sound of it. It's so M.I.A. and it definitely has huge potential to be an amazingly hot track, but once again, those can't be final vocals, and that can't be final mix. Just no.
I didn't like it the first time I heard it, but the second time I loved it. It just sounds a bit low quality... If it was a better quality I'd love it even more. It's very catchy, and yes the live version is amazing, I think this has potential.
