Exclude first 5 yrs from Britney's career and it would look like a joke.Having a long,consistent career > Having a high initial peak that lasted for a short period.And it's not just about success,Britney pretty much lost her ability to perform aka her only major talent after that time too.That,and Janet is more influential and a lot more respected as a performer,artist and entertainer.Britney is viewed as a talentless crackhead good for nothing by most of the people now,she isn't even taken seriously outside of her fanbase.

But her most successfull tours were performed during 2009-2011

She got her biggest radio hit in 2011

she got one of the biggest hits of her entire career in 2008

She got 4 #1 singles from 2008-2011

and She got 4x platinum albums from 2005-2011

and she was the highest paid female musician of 2012 according to Forbes.


I mean Britney also achieved important or big things for her career during her post-2004 career.

Britney and Janet are at two different points in their careers. They both had huge career altering events that happened that eventually led to their declines. Britney is going down the exact same path Janet did, give her two more eras(MAYBE) and she'll be doing small intimate venues permanently, its not like she can give the energy to entertain an arena anyway.

The thought that Janet wouldn't be offered damn near the same as Britney should be reported as flamebait. They have similar credentials and Janet's movie career is arguably more relevant than Britney's movie career. Besides, I was joking about her being offered X-factor, that was never a rumor.

Obviously more people under 25 would be familiar with Britney since she's been her for a shorter time, but I guarantee people would know two Janet songs that went #1. Same might not be able to be said about Britney single her most well-known songs (besides BOMT), didn't go #1.

Didn't Britney do it already? The fact that Ms.Spears still has a career after her IMMENSELY publicized breakdown is a miracle. Her breakdown was not just publicized in the US but in EVERY single country WW. The whole entire world thought (or still thinks) that Britney is an unstable, incompetent mess of a woman and with that kind of reputation, the fact that she has been able to sell 9 million albums since her breakdown and a good 20 million singles WW since then and have 2 successful world tours are noteworthy.
