I think it's too early. Let's see how this era pans out before we decide if he's fading or not. His biggest issue is appealing to the general public. Having a massive fanbase will only get you so far (see his low first week sales and now this). He has to find a way to get people to forget that he's a teen star and see him as someone mature. It will be hard, but he can do it and he's currently trying.

well, this is going to happen sooner or later, I mean lets face it little girls are the reason for his success, and some say that he's getting new older fans, don't think so didn't you see his performance the other day on the today show and did you not look at the fans all are little girls, and when I look at his facebook page and how his team are desperate to prove that he's gaining new fans is just sad, his career will be completely over at the time he hits 20 years old, and the thing with bieber's success is that it's 100% based on good marketing and taking advantage of the situation and not on pure talent.

I agree with this. Believe has the potential to reach a new audience beyond his teenage fanbase but it's gonna take some time because it's hard for people to accept and admit that he's come out with a respectable album. There have already been a lot of positive reactions from people who never listened to him before but gave Believe a chance and were pleasantly surprised, though, I think that's a pretty good sign and could make the album successful in the long run as people continue to discover it.

To be honest, he's been making the transition for a long time and people don't even realize it happening.

Even around here, the tide has changed so much from when I first joined. I used to be able to cause major meltdowns in the Born This Way thread and reduce it to senseless insults by posting any arbitrary picture of the kid, and slowly, he's crept up.
