Yes he was tolerant. He did not condemn a person who had committed great sin. Don't you remember the story of the woman who committed adultery? She was to be stoned by the men in the village and Jesus told them let ye who has committed no sin cast the first stone.
He may not have tolerated everything of course because not everything should be tolerated but he was tolerant.

He wasn't tolerant in that he didn't say "you go gurl, keep slinging that pus-say!!". He was loving in that he saved and forgave her, but intolerant in that he condemned the act as sinful and advised her not to do it again.

Why do you leave out the fact that there is forgiveness and the fact that people according to the bible DO go to heaven. It just seems like you are also picking and choosing too.

Actually you are right. He was not tolerant of sin. But he did not condemn people so quickly either which is what many Christians do today. So basically the criticism should not go to Jesus himself but instead to the individuals who do not live in his image.

Unfortunately people often choose the extremists to site why Christianity is full of bigots or hateful people when in fact so many Christians are good people who try their best to love everyone despite their differences.

My religion teaches about love and respect and not hatred because that's what I always hear from the priest when I go to mass. Actually, Roman Catholicism is the most universal of all Christian religions/sects. It is not taught in Roman Catholicism to be intolerant towards other people's beliefs, it's the choice of a lot of its adherents.

Where I live Christianity is an excuse to kill other people and plant bombs wherever you please. sectarianism is not cute. Then you have the less hard-cores who want to love everyone who is exactly the same as them and cast everyone else into the fiery pits of hell. Love thy neighbour as long as thy neighbour is straight, Christian and just as intolerant as you.

What a shame that where I live Catholicism is synonymous with paedophilia and sending young pregnant girls away to have their baby with nuns who immediately take it off them...

I have no issue with Christian beliefs, some of the ideas behind it are beautiful but churches are about money and power and religion has become an excuse to be hateful towards other people. Some religious people are the nicest people you could meet...I've just seen too much hurt and hate come off of it in my day. I guess it's where I live though with the Troubles and all.
