It has been proved countless times that the more reviews they are the more your score goes down.
The 1st reviewers ae generally the ones who appreciate your work.

Those are exceptions. All the albums in this thread had one or two late highly favorable reviews. But just check al the metacritic threads here, it always starts at ~75 and then decreased to the final score. "4" was around 80 and decreased slowly to its final score.

That is an extremely over simplified definition of pop music, and not really all that accurate to be honest. There are lots of acts out there that aren't popular or mainstream that make PURE pop music, it's more about the sound of it. On the other side, there are lots of popular acts that make music in different genres, be it rock or country or rap....surely you aren't going to say those artists are making pop music simply because they are popular?

The album underperformed. 800k+ in the States and 1.7+ million worldwide isn't bad for an unpromoted album released during the deadest season of the year. It was one of the bestselling albums of 2011 and they singles did more than ‘OK,’ since three of the top 40 biggest singles of 2011 were hers.

No one will remember that the album underperformed. They will remember it for becoming her sixth #1 album, making her the artist with most #1 albums this millennium, the youngest artist in history to have a #1 album in three different decade, and also the only female artist to have six of her albums debut at #1. She adds a few records to the Guinness Book of World records every era.

The majority of it is a cute album sis, but it ends there. She better step up her game if she wants to see generally favorable reviews on Metacritic. Be happy it got on the upper half of mixed reviews, it isn't the type of album to draw in great reviews.
