Still, her genre kinda hinders her. She's too pop for America (especially hardcore country fans) and too country for the rest of the world....

She knows what she's doing. Her team is no dummy. Robert Allen is the brother of the drummer for Def Leppard, legendary rock band, Rock Hall member, etc. She's eyeing the decades long career, that will be remembered for years when she has gone (with 'gone', I mean deceased. Ex: Laura Nyro, John Lennon, Woody Guthrie).
Her worldwide success will come around 6th - 8th albums. First three were the 'introduction phase'. 4th & 5th will be the 'transitional phase'. After that, we can sit our self down and waiting for the masterpiece to happen.
If time has been kind to Garth Brooks, then why not with Taylor? Purists like her because she the most real artist in this modern era (writing/composing/co-producing). She's the median of country right now, even tho she's not country. Again, much can be learned from Garth and the '80s in country music.

Welp. Thanks.
I remember people said that it's harder now to make it in Nashville since Taylor came to the scene. They want the 'artist'/vocalist/singer to tell their stories, the songwriters will only help them. Remember the bad habit in country music pre-Taylor rise? Singing other people's songs, hit singles were everything, no need to evolve with each album.
Bob Dylan revolutionized Folk music. The Beatles did the same with Rock 'n Roll. Dylan & Beatles shaped the way of today's public view artistry.
PS: Do I need to say it here what most of those 30++ yo fans of Beatles have suspected on what's gonna happen to Taylor next?

Well, out topic for a moment then.
Google Beatles History & Beatles-Mania.
Bunch of screaming girls. Till at one point they had to cancel a tour because of how loud it was.
Album #1 - #3 defined teeny-boppers music in '50s/'60s. They also had movies about them. The teen-stars marketing strategy that you see right now, those ppl just copied it from the proven uber-successful system first applied to Beatles.
Back in the '60s, ask people anywhere what kind of music that they like, the answers you'll get would probably similar to: "other than The Beatles". People wrote them off as teen-fads. Until album #4, people started to listen to them. Then finally, they gave society Sgt. Pepper. People who didn't want to admit that they were wrong, dealt with it by applauding the producer of the record. And you've known what happened after that.
Now go learn about Dylan & Mitchell again, Taylor.

i don't really understand this no hype argument. Lets not forget that she ended 'Fearless' era with a terrible Grammy performance after what people said her career would be over. We all know how that turned out. She is not that dependant on hype as some of her peers. It really is about a loyal fanbase. She will do a millie again.

So Sgt. Pepper is the album that put them at the very top? That is the exact album which made me feel like they were over-rated

I still think Rubber Soul is their best album. Sgt. Pepper was great, but way too-overrated. And most of the Beatles fans agreed that Sgt. Pepper is THE best album of all time but you don't know what to expect with the public anyway. Just ignore it.

Rumor was that Lionel wanted Taylor on the album and it didn't work out for some reason.
I think they were supposed to do the song he did with Pixie Lott.

Are u serious???? The best album I've ever heard is Tommy by the Who but I don't think I've heard enough music to ever claim an album as the best album of all time
