Because they do pop/rock records...They have good music, but they aren't exactly big artists. TBH, P!nk should be up there with the greats. Kelly is successful, but she doesn't have that star quality about her. But she can sing.

As for the topic, Kelly is cool, yet her music is bland and forgettable ever since after the My December era. P!nk is overlooked and not critically acclaimed/respected because she is fake and a complete non-factor when it comes to actually generate some impact anywhere except for Australia maybe.

Becuase they both put out those disposable Max Martin produced albums that fail to have a strong enough identity to stand out in pop culture, imo. At least that is how their singles represent the albums, I've honestly never listened through a whole album from either of them, so I'm speaking as someone who is just part of the general public when it comes to them. I do think they both have some gems in their collection though, but nothing that's gonna stand the test of time like the big hits from the other girls.

They are both really talented though.

Out of the 60+ studio tracks that Kelly has recorded, only 3 of them were with Max Martin and one of them (Since U Been Gone) made all the year end/decade-end list.

As for "the test of time", what other girls music will stand the test of time? I doubt I'm gonna hear LFN or ANY Rihanna solo single on the radio in 10 years. Even Christina Aguilera doesn't get as much recurrent play as Kelly does for "Already Gone", "Miss Independent" or any of the 5 Breakaway singles.

I totally agree with you. Max martin is a much better producer than dr luke if you ask me. The singles that were produced by both of them are just subg, bthe and lws. The rest of other kelly hits are produced by other producers. Furthermore, none of kelly's songs on the latest album were co-produce by max martin nor dr luke.

But what does it tell you when someone like me who doesn't know much about her can only name the Max Martin tracks?
For what it's worth I think Kelly will stand the test of time in the US, being the first AI winner, and her continued success over there, but here in Europe she has been fading ever since Breakaway(which was her only really big era) and this new music really hasn't made a dent here at all. I still haven't heard "Mr Know it All". Just my opinion though, I could be wrong.
