Were u even in big boy panties when Aaliyah was at the top? Because I grew up with her and I know the impact she had. She had great singles, that was it. The 90's were a great time for music and lots of r&b acts achieved a lot more success than 2 million copies sold. Where are they now?

Aaliyah never had MAJOR chart success unfortunately. Five top ten hits is nothing to be overly proud of.
She was talented, yes, but also overlooked.

five top 10 pop hits is decent for an urban r & b star, especially when most of her singles were ineligible to chart on the hot 100.

******, just so we are clear, I'm not posting reciepts to prove that she was a "mega star" because she wasn't. The point is, these 14 year old girls are saying she was a "flop" when she damn sure wasn't.. and she wasn't as pathetic as aubrey either.
and again, what do they have to do with Aaliyah? How do you know she wouldnt change her sound? sign to a new label? how do you know?

It's decent, yes, but she would have eventually died down like Monica and Brandy.
