But is anyone else in pop music as staunch in the support of gay rights as Gaga?
There is such thing as "overexposing" and her album is called "Born This Way" there were gay icons before who fought for Gay rights (and still do). Gaga isn't any more or less important than them. Britney, P!nk, Xtina, Cher, Madonna etc all used their voice for pro-gay rights. Gaga is doing nothing new.
If there was no GaGa, the rerelease as we know it would not exist. Versus, Cannibal & TD/Loud/FF rerelease discussions would've never happened. GaGa changed so much in pop in such a little amount of time. Her style made everyone step their game up visually. Even her music.
And i do agree with the people who've said, if Gaga hadn't blown up, Ke$ha would've been a lot bigger. Ke$ha's issue was, her image was too typical trashy blonde chick-ish with the repetitive autotune drunk party songs. I've heard a song of her from her earlier years so she can sing, but definitely never showcased it to an extent where anyone who isn't a casual Top 40 listener would take her serious.
She's making themselves feel like freaks and shes outcasting them as a group and not a part of the people.
it's so ****ing dumb.
I don't think she's making gays feel like freaks, she's merely giving those "outcasts" and "freaks"(some of them which may be gays) a voice.
Its easy to come out and say you love gays, but this woman has risked her career and endured public backlash because of her support of the LGBTQ sector.
If Gaga wasn't around. Xtina & Britney would be doing better. I noticed a lot of Gaga stan's left Britney for Gaga because of her talent and her love towards her fan's, and all the support she has given. And Xtina lost the most of them which I don't know why. Xtina is talented as well and Bionic was amazing.
Britney had some excellent videos this year, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. That has nothing to do with Gaga.
Piece of Me in my opinion isn't good enough for something like "Video of The Year" (even Britney admitted it...), and I think that Gaga raised the bar for music videos a little... and that is good! Like you said, Britney had some excellent videos this year (Hold It Against Me for example)
If Rihanna had rereleased Rated R? She definitely wouldn't be as big as she is now. It would've delayed alot of her potential success and her ever-climbing lists of top-notch endorsements.
