You guys are so hypocritical.
None of us are saying the Beatles are bad or are hating at them.
They are legendary, and are the biggest band ever, but its very annoying that this had to happen the week of the release of the Rihanna album that could possibly hit #1 on BB.
You have to understand that that is annoying.
Trust me if it wasnt the Beatles it would have been Taylor Swift, Susan Boyle,T-Pain, Josh Groban, Rascal Flatts, Andrea Bocelli and the list goes on and on that would have stopped her from going #1 for now the 5th time...
What's "unfair" about The Beatles having the big front page banner? This is the first time their catalog is available to the iTunes world. It would make sense for them to get a big banner and push the lessors to the bottom.
I can kinda see being upset about having your new released pushed off the front page but then again when the Beatles step in a room everyone bows down.

I mean... she has yet to push over 200K first week. She might do it this time but with The Beatles in addition to people whose fans actually buy their albums she didn't stand a chance anyway.
The Beatles are amazingly talented and are an influential group, but their influence cannot be applied universally as so many people try to do. People love to make these grandiose statements about how so-and-so wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Beatles, even when that so-and-so has so little in common with the Beatles it's laughable.
You like Taio Cruz's Dynamite? Little known fact, that song is completely derivative of Revolution 9 by the Beatles, and actually I read that Ringo wanted to record a song called Dynamite but the other Beatles didn't listen cause Ringo's input doesn't matter. So yeah, you best engage in Beatles worship you Taio Cruz fan cause the Beatles paved the way for that boy an his electropop dance smashes.
And most people don't even offer that much of an explanation when they go into their "give The Beatles their dues" mode. It's always a broad statement like, "The Beatles paved the way for your fave," or some such nonsense which you can't tell me applies to the acts that are considered "faves" on ATRL. Britney has nothing in common with the Beatles musically, so I ask where the influence or way paving comes in? Is it because they were globally popular, making it possible for other acts to be globally popular? There would be no global superstars without the Beatles? (Absurdity.) I don't even know if that's the reasoning, because nobody has ever bothered to explain their reasoning for the broadsweeping Beatles are the source of everything sort of statements.
That said, I'm happy to see their stuff on iTunes. I've been meaning to flesh out my collection for awhile.
