No they aren't.
Fans choose the singles, perhaps we have pop and acoustic versions of them because the pop ones are likely to go down better in the UK and those are the ones that it takes the least work to convert to pop and the acoustics are of the ones that either had a lot of instrumentation before or because they sound really good acoustic.
