It was such a step down from the Sims 2, which remains the best installment of the whole series, as well as one of the best PC games ever released.

i agree with this ![rip](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/rip_zpsec10ede9.gif) even though i still don't think it caused the downfall because it still sold a lot of copies. i think it caused conflict with loyal players because of how ****** everything was. it just didn't have the charm that The Sims usually had ![no party](images/smilies/images/smilies/noparty.gif) and on top of that, all of the glitches and ****. but a lot of new users who have never played TS1 or 2, loved the game.

The Sims 4 is weak. It would have been amazing in 2006, but it is no where near what the Sims should be in 2015. The sims and their world look cartoonish, and the game is empty. The sims, somehow even with the added 'emotions,' feel more hallow than ever. I didn't need to know my sim was angry in TS2..the sim's just had enough personality to act it out. The Sims 3 didn't have the same charm as the previous, but it at least offered new game play that offered creativity not seen before in the franchise. I hope Get Together is canceled, a DWUW video tea, and TS4 era ends. They need to build a new game on a new platform and get their act together.

Ugh, The Sims 2 was just perfect. The amount of time I've spent playing that game... Good times.

TS4s marketing was absolutely terrible. the rollout was terrible. fans weren't happy. so the long time fans would tell the new fans that sims 4 is gonna suck!!!!! the PC only release in the beginning ****ed a lot of things up too. everything was just a mess.
the game itself is phenomenal. yeah, a lot was left out but that didn't take away from how great the game is. TS4 is way better than TS3. but I will admit that TS4 EP's fckn suck.
Sims 2 = Sims 1 > Sims 4 > Sims 3

I find the Sims 4 base game weak and boring, but the Expansions really well done.
Weird how it's the exact opposite
The Sims 3 was the worst only because of peformance. If it had run like a dream, it would have been MUCH better. It's only let down by how badly it runs.

I don't think anything will touch that game. You'd think EA would try to recreate that game and then add the improvements, but instead they just change to a different direction.
For me, Open World didn't improve the game at all for me. I was still more addicted to Sims 2. I'm still more addicted to Sims 2.
The Sims 3 had amazing open world's with amazing story progression, but the Sims themselves were lifeless. All of the Sims had rushed animations, and just overall felt like clones of one Sim with different appearances.
In the Sims 4 though, Sims have hidden traits randomly assigned so each Sim is slightly different. Some Sims will be left or right handed. Some Sims are more impatient than others. Some Sims are more attracted to a certain type of Sim etc
The Sims 2 had the same, and you could see when you entered debug mode.

The game is incredibly lacklaster. I only played it for a few days and I then stopped. It's forgotten tbh. I forgot it existed until this thread.

I can pretty agree that the major issue with TS3 is its performance, or lack thereof. When I play on TS3 and its expansions on a PC that can handle it the game is miles more enjoyable than TS2.
I am sure TS4 will be something of average quality when its all said and done. I just don't think I'll be spending any money on them ![Gay Cat](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/random/cat_zpsebvh5uip.png)

People hate TS3 because it's buggy, lbh.

The Sims games are kinda just like Gaga's albums
TS1 - TF. People are always nostalgic for it but never actually play/listen to it. Kinda makes you realize how long ago that was.
TS2 - TF. Rave reviews. People still play/listen to it, but bought the next one just so they aren't accused of being left in the past. Known as the best.
TS3 - BTW. Some changes. Some loved it, but critiqued it for not being as best or as big of a difference from the last one. Yet, in the end, it still had the biggest numbers.
TS4 - AP. Strange, odd change in direction. Did the poorest of them all. People think it's a flop and think it's the end of the creator, even though that's not true. Is still kind of good despite how much hate it gets.
So, no.

Ok, you stole this from someone who posted the exact same thing last year. You ain't slick.

More comparable to Whitney's discography (minus I'm Your Baby Tonight and My Love is Your Love)
TS1- Whitney Houston
TS2- Whitney
TS3- The Bodyguard
TS4- Just Whitney...

Can you read? He clearly said TS3 sold the most but TS2 is known as the best, which is true.

I think it's a combination of the fact that the game had so much negative reception, the animation style went backwards from TS3 and finally that PC games just aren't the tea anymore ![Doc](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/doc_zpsc886535c.gif) It's sad though.

I wouldn't say ruined, but it did disappoint, I can't lie. For a game that was released in 2014, you'd expect... you know, a little more.
I think I'm in the minority that actually preferred The Sims 3 over The Sims 2, because it felt a lot more open, I felt like I could do more things and of course the environments looked better, but I the characters were ugly (nothing a little CC couldn't fix) in all honesty.
In all fairness to The Sims 4, it looks great and with mods and CC you can do pretty much what you want, but I can't help but feel they took a step back in the wrong direction. The world feels so empty, like literally just your lot, and then you have to LOAD into a different lot i.e a park or something and wait for sims to spawn in. This and the fact there's such a small amount of world space just makes it feel empty. This is why I love The Sims 3 because you could walk to a neighbours lot and just play in there ( ), but I digress. I still play ha regularly nnn.
I just want EA to hurry and make an online social Sims game, where people could invite friends to play on their world server. (TS5?)

that's what the Sims 4 was originally before EA told devs to scrap it after SimCity had bad press for being online
Had SimCity been a success, you would have had that game ![rip](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/rip_zpsec10ede9.gif)

There can exist an online Sims entity and a normal game. It is not that difficult. They've done it before.
