I think that Adele is pulling a Taylor in that she is able to tap the money of the teenage girls who, on occasion, buy music. This is why people like Jay Sean Derulo are dooooooooooooomed and have no chance at ever selling a single album--men don't buy music.

As big an accomplishment the sales are, her bigger accomplishment is that she's an industry game-changer.

She's the Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana of this era. She's changing the industry hopefully for the better.

I'm thinking buying the physical album. My first in 6 years.

Considering the sales of other artists this year I think Adele could also challenge for one of the biggest albums of 2012 too. It could possibly sell another 5 million throughout next year.

Huh? Pretty much Taylor's whole fanbase is teen/young women. Adele's success on the other hand is not based on the money of teenage girls. She's loved by everyone; adults, younger people, 18 - 34, 60+.

I was referring to the fact that she was able to have the largest selling album digitally this year on iTunes, which is dominated by teenage girls, ALONG with the other demographics you mentioned.

I love the fact that 21 is also making people discover her debut! To me thats a good measure of success that people obviously love her music that they are willing to check out her other album.
