I doubt anyone would say white people shouldn't give Prince tributes. Lol I call bs on that. Especially with Prince's catalog being so multiculutral and versatile to the point where one race couldn't even claim him. Naw, it wasn't a race thing. Because I don't remember any backlash from Tori Kelly, Kelly Clarkson or anyone else who have ever done Prince tributes. But it's the fact they picked HER of all people. Like really? No one that used to be in his band? Not Bruno? Not just Stevie and a few more together? Madonna? Like...they were cool. But they damn sure weren't best friends as she tries to make it seem. His true and older fans know the real tea. Did he perform for her a few years ago? Yes. But they weren't besties. Just like when MTV had her give that damn speech for Michael at the VMAs. Like...Michael wasn't even here for her ass. He pratically dragged her ass from left to right. But it's about "ratings". Madonna is talented, I own some of her work. But she was off key, out of breath and more. Now maybe she was chokes up so it hindered her but that's a big if tbh. Like damn Madge you could've really did another song and performed. She's a performer! She could've did some fun songs and slayed the game. I just think maybe she tried to play it too safe by picking that song because maybe she didn't want to cross a line.
