I can't believe half the stuff that has been posted in the past 3 pages, Ex. the outlandish accusations being thrown around blaming the entire Muslim community and tarnishing their civil liberties.
Obviously many of you are completely ignorant to what is said in the Qur'an. This is completely directed to quiqui4eva. In the Muslim religion a person has the option to wear a full Hijbab (HeadScarf), and this is completely pertinent based on the family you come from. If your a strict practitioner of the religion you would most likely partake in wearing a full Hijab outfit. If your not as I stated it is based on the family, what you can and cannot do.
Also I am not Muslim, so you can absolutely educate your self(selves).

Go out. Find a scarved woman. Ask her if she's repressed. I 100% guarantee you that she'll say it does the opposite of repress, it EMPOWERS her as a woman. But don't take it from me, just go out and seek the answer yourself.
In my eyes, the sexual exploitation and the way the western world treats and represents it's women, especially in the media - Is repression. In the middle-east, a woman and her body are so highly regarded, that it shouldn't be exploited, but respected. That is why they cover up. But that isn't the topic at hand... And if you want to debate this, we can take it elsewhere.
It goes both ways. Who's to say your way is right? Open your mind, before assuming others are closed-minded.
If you didn't know, Muslims believe and love Jesus just as much as Christians.
Islam, Christianity and Judaism share the same prophets, the same stories and the same morals, the SAME God, with only minor differences because there's like a million different versions of the Bible.
It's essentially, all the same.
Exactly you tool. Some Muslim
women dress the way they do because it is THEIR body, THEIR religion and they RESPECT it.
This isn't a hard concept to grasp.
You're being a hypocrite & you don't even realize.

Some Muslim people are really Christian, but in their country they are forced to be Islamic.
Also, how many types of clothing do you wear? I am sure you have different types. Muslim women are forced to wear one type of clothing that covers up their whole body. Do you think that is all the Muslim women want to wear?
And do you really think we all worship the same God? You must be an atheist (or however you spell it) to think that. You're pretty much saying Zeus Buddah Allah and Christian God are all the same
@ itsJAMESbitch yes I have read the bible. It's not peaceful because of the stories that went on in the past, not what God and Jesus tells us to do
@crazychris92 There are different religions and everyone has their opinions on who God really is. There is only one God, but not the one that everyone believes in. Christian God we believe in says to love and respect everyone. Islam God (Allah) believes in killing others if they disrespect the culture. I don't know how other religions view their God, but there are opinions of who God can be. What I meant was that I don't believe in Allah and I hope he is not real because my religion is against what he likes.

If any of this is directed at me (the first quote confused me) I'm aware of this. But some countries do force women to wear full Hijab clothes, and plenty of others don't have equal civil liberties for men and women. Not to mention gays usually have little to no rights in said countries.
These policies are (in the cases I've been talking about) justified as being in the name of Islam by the authorities. This does not mean Islam in itself is any more backwards than many other religions (The Bible old testament, for example, has some quite disturbing things in it), but it does mean that many predominantly Islamic countries have catching up to do and that the oppressive nature of some of these countries is likable to medieval Europe where many people where oppressed and persecuted "In the name of" the predominant religion at the time (Christianity). It goes without saying, obviously, that not all islamic countries are like that. It also goes without saying that Not all Muslims agree with the practices of Iran, Saudi, Syria etc. But it is a problem.
@quiqui: You need to word things better, you're coming off as an idiot.

Not every Muslim women is forced to wear that. There's tons of Muslim women who don't wear it, and plenty who have the option to but choose not to.

Uh...Well, Zeus is a Greek God, Buddha isn't a God at all, which you'd know if your ignorant ass read the Wikipedia page on Buddha for 5 seconds. Allah and the Christian God are actually the same, if you look at the roots and scriptures. Allah is the Arabic word for God. Arabic Christians worship Allah. So please stop talking mess when you literally don't know the first thing about these religions.

What about what we're told to do in Leviticus? Does that just not count?

Except Allah is just a foreign word for God so you do believe in Allah, buddy. Unless you really mean to say you don't believe in the Christian god.

Like I said, some Muslims are forced to practice and follow that religion, whether it's by family or the government. A few Muslim guys don't hurt women because they respect them, but other men often beat/kill women if they don't follow what the Qaran says. I'm not just talking about the way they dress, but the virginity. Sadly in some Muslim families, women/girls are killed by their father/brother if they have sex or even get raped.
I am already educated, check yourself again.

Why did you use a few instead of "most," out of curiosity? The MAJORITY of Muslim men respect women. You are so uneducated and ignorant it hurts.
And you realize that virginity/abuse of daughters things happens in Christian "alternative schools" throughout Middle America, right?

Of course there is a few, at least over in some countries of the Middle East. I am not talking about Muslims that moved over to the US, those are okay. But the people over there, I have not heard one story about a man treating a woman eight over there. I am just assuming since I know there has to be caring men over there.
And those people who call themselves "Christians" are not real Christians. If they state that they are, don't believe them. Those abusers will go to hell. But why are you only referring to Christians? A lot of other people abuse their daughters.
It was my fault that I got so off topic, so I will stop and end up saying:
I feel disgusted that some of you think the soldiers fight for no cause. They are busy fighting and dying for us while we speak. I would love to see some of you join the army or have a family member that died in 9/11 to change your opinions, because it makes me upset you don't appreciate what they have done for us.
Anyways, hopefully we can move on from this and pretend like this never happened. Bye y'all!

So stop saying the radicals are the "real Muslims." Weird how you'll only make that exception for your own religion.
Also, the reason you haven't "heard a news story of a man treating a woman right" is because the news doesn't report **** like that. The news ALWAYS has a negative spin. You don't see any news stories in the US of "husband doesn't beat his wife," why do you not think America is full of woman abusers?
I'm the son of a Marine who served in Iraq more than 5 times, so don't try to make me seem unpatriotic. I'm just not ignorant to other religions like you.
We're not going to pretend this never happened. I'll remember how ignorant you are for a long time, bud.

No one was saying they fight for "no cause". It's just that that cause isn't always honorable.
And yes, I do have a brother in the army and my dad was in the air force...
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Soulja Boy is right.
"fighting for what? Be your own man..."

Last time I checked, "Fighting for what?" means that you think they don't fight for a cause. I have seen a few people (for example Venus and zach) said they don't fight for a cause. I didn't hear them say anything specific about stuff the troops did that wasn't honorable.
And if you agree with Soulja Boy, then you must not be happy your dad and brother are fighting for you. If you really want everyone to be their "own man", you must want this country and all US citizens to die.

Oh, I don't know, maybe invading Iraq for oil and killing innocent people just because?
Anyway, I'm done with this thread. Bye...
