The competition marched along as expected in the first round of the
Tiffany Division, as top seeds
#1 "Moon River",
#2 "The Way We Were",
#3 "You Must Love Me" and
#4 "You'll Be In My Heart" all trounced their opponents, earning at least three times as many votes. (That means both qualifying Bond themes, perhaps the most iconic of all movie music, are out already.) Facing '60s classics,
#5 "Falling Slowly" and
#6 "You Must Love Me" advanced easily as well. Though
#9 "Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born)" and
#10 "Let the River Run" prevailed over higher-ranked competition, they are at most minor upsets.
