Jamie Woon released something this year? Nn, let me listen. *3 minutes later* A pretty good song, I really like it.
WTWM was a guilty pleasure bop, I really love Lucette Stranded on the Island, the way it constantly progresses and changes itself >>> Anecdotes is pretty high on my own list, and Meet Me in the Middle is great.
Oh, and I once heard, like, 12 minutes of Jess, her album in a music shop and gosh, I felt like cutting my ears off
I wasn't so sure about Joanna's album. I've only recently gotten into her though, so it might take more time. I was unfortunately disappointed with Jamie Woon. Such a loooong wait and the album ended up a bit underwhelming. Still had some good songs though.
Love the whole of Divers. I totally get what you mean about her lyrics as well. I've listened to the album quite a few times and I still discover new things.
Lucette Stranded on the Island is also amazing, like the whole album. Jessie is great too.
I feel like Hold Tight tries to build up to something exciting but totally falls flat.
Tea. I always feel like skipping it.
Loud Places is great, definitely the best of the vocal collaborations on the album imo. And Lucette is one of my favourites on Julia's album, luv the way it builds up.
@Vilppu: LMAO 12 minutes??? Damn that store really liked her. I mean I like her but not for like more than that amount of time if I'm honest.
Yeah it's definitely the progression of Lucette... that really makes me like it. And the wind chimes. So good.
I think in the long-run I will like Joanna's new album least, but right now I really like it. As for Jamie Woon's album, not sure how it fares next to his debut still, but yep definitely some solid tracks.
Gonna update as much as I can of K's as I'm about to head out!
is for... Kinky soup.
The number of musicians starting with the letter K is 7!
Why: This is a random duo that I think I found cause Roisin was tweeting about them? They had a pretty solid EP. I didn't realize this song technically came out in 2013 BUT WHATEVER. Think is my favorite because it's, actually kinda like Hairless Toys, with that sophisticated pop sound and a great chorus. Really reminds me of another girl but I'm not sure who.
Check Out: Tropea is really nice too as well as Ruby.
Avoid: If I had to pick a least favorite it'd be Aliaa
Kanye West
“You ain't getting money 'less you got eight figures.”
Song: All Day by Kanye West
Why: Cause it's ****ing Kanye West let's move on now!
Check Out: NOT his album because it's STILL NOT OUT
Avoid: Kanye's the one avoiding his effing album ffs.
Kaskade
“1PM, wanna call you, but I know I gotta catch my breath.”
Song: Day Trippin' (feat. Estelle) by Kaskade
Why: Growing up, Kaskade has always been a favorite of mine in the "EDM" realm before he got kinda mainstream with his productions. His past two albums (this one and the previous) both weren't great if I'm being honest.
However, this song is such a great jam! Nice to see Kaskade dipping into the low-key funk with the production and Estelle sounds fantastic on the song. Honestly, now that I enjoy Steven Universe it kinda makes me enjoy Estelle's song more now.
Check Out: Whatever with Kolaj is a really good song too, and Mercy, which is with Galantis, is another one I enjoy.
Avoid: I mean I don't have any outright disliked songs but the rest of the album was pretty meh.
Why: Is this a cheesy pick? It's been my favorite new track from the album so idk.
Check Out: i is still probably my favorite from the album. I also dig Wesley's Theory, U, and Hood Politics (esp the ending).
Avoid: None!
Kevin Garrett
“It's tricky when your love is just some cry for help.”
Song: Control by Kevin Garrett
Why: Another song I'm not sure how I found. I like it because this song (and the whole EP) is really ambient and his voice sounds nice without him attempting to hit high or low notes that he can't (if that makes sense). For the EP being called Mellow Drama I kinda thought it was gonna be worse than it ended up being.
Check Out: NOT his album because it's STILL NOT OUT
Avoid: Kanye's the one avoiding his effing album ffs.
the song is cute but THIS so much
I obviously love King Kunta and all of the other Kendrick's tracks you mentioned, except I've kind of grown tired of i (still brilliant, just overplayed). Also, its single version > album version
