RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - I'M WITH YOU
Ah, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This group was one of my favorites in the early 2000s, but they fell off my radar not long after, not to return again until this year. Their latest studio album, I'm with You, jumps into the countdown at a respectable #25, and to be honest, it deserves this position for its cover art alone. Flawless, no? Anyway, the album is a great rock record, but its charm doesn't come close to their earlier albums. Plus the awful "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" is included on the tracklist. I mean... |

ALISON KRAUSS & UNION STATION - PAPER AIRPLANE
Grammy darling Alison Krauss' eleventh studio album with Union Station comes in at #24 on the countdown. While this melancholy album is beautifully structured and one of their strongest sets to date, it doesn't remotely compare to the opus that is Raising Sands (forgive me for the comparison; I had to), and is rather monotonous as a whole. Sorry, Alison. You may be a Grammy favorite, but you're not one of this countdown's top 20 favorites. |

JENNIFER HUDSON - I REMEMBER ME
RihMark will be happy about this one. I always liked Jennifer Hudson, but nothing she did blew me away until March of this year when I gave her second album, the fittingly-titled I Remember Me, a listen. Hudson's soaring vocals beautifully complement the album's strong emotion, and the album's title track offers up one of the best R&B songs of 2011. My only complaint is that it's a little light of an album considering some of the things she went through post-debut, but I can't say that she "needed" to discuss those topics. Who knows, anyway? Maybe they're too difficult for her to. Either way, Remember is a strong clutter of twelve songs, taking the #23 spot. |

FEIST - METALS
Feist is like that crazy uncle you absolutely adore - spacy, interesting, and brilliant, but only appears at family reunions every couple of years, never to be seen otherwise. Once I grew tired of The Reminder in late 2008, I practically forgot about Feist. I hardly ever even gave the wonderful "My Moon, My Man" a listen. Then, again, out of nowhere, Feist delivered the instrumentally magnificent Metals in October. Let's enjoy this #22 album as much as we possibly can, seeing as we'll have to wait until 2015 to hear her next masterpiece. |

KATE BUSH - 50 WORDS FOR SNOW
You may have thought Feist was bad, but Miss #21 is even worse when it comes to releasing albums. 50 Words for Snow is Kate Bush's first album in an astonishing six years, and get this: before that album, Aerial, it had been twelve years since Bush had dished out a studio album to the public. Anyway, 50 Words was well worth the wait. While only seven songs are included on the record's tracklist, each clocks in at nearly seven minutes or more, totaling to sixty-five minutes of pure ecstasy. My personal favorite is "Misty", a thirteen-minute piece that is so fantastically otherworldly that even the likes of Bjork and PJ Harvey should take notes. |

This section is rather rock-filled, but if you're not a rock fan, don't fret. 20-16 include plenty of pop and rap. ![Celestial 2](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/celestial2_zps8b856a79.gif)

It really was! As my description stated, I hate TAORDM, but the album was much better than I was anticipating.

TOP 20 TIME!

20.
WONDER GIRLS - WONDER WORLD
Truth be told, I was not too fond of Korean girl group Wonder Girls before this album, Wonder World, which hops in at #20. Sure they had a couple cute songs before this album, but for the most part I thought they were disposable and boring. Reluctantly, I gave Wonder World a listen upon its early November release, and I was utterly blown away. Catchy lyrics, fun production, and an overall great unification of the Wonder Girls' original K-pop sound and their new American influence all make World shine. Perfect way to kick the top 20 off. |

NICOLA ROBERTS - CINDERELLA'S EYES
Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts' solo debut album, Cinderella's Eyes, soars into the countdown at #19. Ever since lead single "Beat of My Drum" was released back in May I've been on the solo Nicola choo-choo train, and Nicola brought her absolute A-game. Witty, well-structured, and absolutely stellar in every sense of the word, Eyes is well-deserving of this spot and by far the best solo album any of the Girls Aloud members have offered up. Yes, even better than both of Queen Cheryl's masterpieces. My apologies, Ace. |

BJÖRK - BIOPHILIA
Some of you will kill me for this, but the Queen of Weird (no, not Gaga), Björk's, eighth studio album Biophilia comes in at #18 on the countdown. While the songs on Biophilia are extremely artistic and nicely-crafted as pieces of music, the lyrical aspect of the album falls flat and it almost seems as if Björk sacrificed the latter for the former instead of finding a happy medium and, well, delivering another Vespertine. A+ for the album cover, though. |

17.
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE - CODES AND KEYS
Death Cab for Cutie's brilliant seventh album, Codes and Keys, launches into the countdown at #17. First off, let it be known that Death Cab are one of my favorite indie groups; when they release an album, I expect high quality. While Keys is just that as its own album, and does absolutely destroy most of its competition from 2011, it pales in comparison to their previous record, especially 2008's Narrow Stairs. Keys isn't even remotely a poor album; however, it is rather generic and unemotional compared to their previous albums, hence why it missed the top 15. Sorry, guys! |

LADY GAGA - BORN THIS WAY
My arrogant, irritating, try-hard ex-fave Lady Gaga comes in at #16 on the countdown with Born This Way, a romp in self-conceitedness and preachment. As per usual, Gaga takes things way too far with this album, but that may be why it's her best album to date. Most prefer The Fame Monster to this fourteen-song set, but I've made it known since the beginning that I find Born to be Gaga's best work thus far. The production is magnificent, the lyrics are clever, and the vocals are superb. What's not to like? I don't know. Ask the Billboard Hot 100. |

I think ATRL has more varied taste as a whole than its given credit for, but I suppose it is surprising to have albums like #25-21 on my countdown considering what the majority of ATRL speaks about on the regular. Thanks!
