Victory Road is just this huge maze of dead ends and constant run-ins with Pokémon. I went through with no Repels and I kept running into heathens I didn't want to catch every two minutes.

I loved the Spear Pillar only for Dialga or Palkia. It was cool.
I remember doing the Victory Road without Repels and I was like walking there for ages
From then I was always prepared. I bought so many Repels before I would go in so that no stupid pokemon could fight with me. I remember with Diamond and Pearl and Platinum I avoided a lot of trainers because I was too lazy to fight with them. So when I defeated the Pokemon League and I was just walking in the grass all of the sudden a trainer popped up and started to fight with me. And the dead part about it was that it was like one of the first trainers I actually needed to battle with
I just hated it.
