I remember Taraji P. Henson was on Wendy promoting a show where she was the lead female and she was saying how they didn't even put her in any of the promos. Which is weird.
I just wish some black actors didn't have to only be in Tyler Perry movies to get a damn lead role. People can sit here and say "Well you have a black person here.... AND OH here.", but the reality is that it's very rare.

They just don't get it. And they never will. I don't even try explaining the kind of racism minorities experience anymore. It's like trying to get a cow through the eye of a needle.

BTW guys, you didn't answer my question.
If Harry was black, would you think the series would still be as successful as it is today?

Your argument is completely invalid.
EDIT: Sam Jackson is also in Avengers
One of the most important characters in Pirates was black.
Twilight had a prominent black character
Titanic was a period piece, so a lack of black characters makes sense somewhat.

Well, even the music industry in the recent years have been mostly dominated by white. Other than Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Beyonce and Rihanna... who made an impact?

Um...what? That has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of black actresses and actors(as well as singers) but they are just not landing the lead, "oscar worthy" or blockbuster roles. And if they are they are playing a token, stereotype, or a Tyler Perry character.

Yeah, probably. The movie series might not have done so well though, because a White main character contributes to the European fairytale feel of it.
Moving on, do you think Jay-z or Kayne would have had the success they did if they were white?

It really is, especially if said back has a huge following. Case in point: Dragonball Z. In Dragonball: Evolution Goku was played by Justin Chatwin. Justin isn't Asian. Asians, along with other fans, we're extremely upset by this. Same thing with Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's going to happen again with Akira, but "no one's" going to care. Let a black or whatever Harry Potter run around Hogwarts and see if there's no uproar.

African Americans have made magnificent strides in Hollywood since the 1930s. Sadly, other minority diversity seem to be nonexistent and not an issue to the overall public. Latinos, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, etc are underrepresented on television and the entertainment business, in general. Sofia Vergara (Colombian) and Eva Longoria (Mexican-American) are the only Latinas in prime-time television. Both playing stereotypical characters. Both are portrayed as sexy housewives, with no careers.

And so on.. they always play the characters that go through some sort of struggle unless they're the popular overused black/latino actors that have been swapped for the past 10 years that get the good roles.
The asians are always used for the fighting flicks. Everyone else gets their stereotypical roles.
Time hasn't changed.

True. You can also add the fact that most of the Latinas that make it really big in Hollywood are pretty european looking most of the time. Sofia Vergara for instance (who I LOVE btw) is very successful, but she's also a white latina. I wish there would be a little more diversity.

It wouldn't. No one would care see some black wizard waving a wand around. That wand would have to be replaced by an actual weapon.
