it's not your place to say, just like it's not my place to tell black people how they should feel about the n-word, just like it's not my place to tell you how you should feel about derogatory Jewish phrases.
Just because you supposedly "don't mean offense" doesn't make it alright. If you RESPECT gay people, you will respect their collective feelings on this and NOT say it. If you can't do that, then no, you don't actually respect gay people.
The only way to end prejudice is to attack it head on and not be silent on the matter. Sitting here and calling the fellow members of your community cry babies does nothing but divide you, and the straight community has already divided themselves from the gay community. You have to stand strong against your fellow gays and support each other, that is the only real way to end homophobia. Not catering to the straight community and what they deem acceptable.
