The referendum in Slovakia was not anti-gay at all hun. They just asked people if the definition of marriage should be changed to allow gay couples to mary and adopt children, but the questions were badly formulated and thats why people decided to boycott it. Gay people get a lot of support, especially by students. You will be fine in Slovakia or Czech republic too, dont worry too much about it. Poland is more religious, but its beautiful and my gay friend was in Krakow for two semesters and decided to return there to work on his PhD.
