Lol stop.
Goodbye Lullaby was a messy era (her own label was against her, RCA released it 4 years after TBDT while it should have released in 2009, they didn't want Avril to choose the singles + the radios didn't play her), it sold 1,4/1,5M copies WW. Stronger sold the same number of copies with the (kind of) WW hit Stronger + the radios support.
Oh and btw, she is NOT dominating the 3rd biggest market.

Three of my favorites. This is impossible.
My preference:
Let Go >> Breakaway >>>> Misunderstood

So? We're not talking about the importance of the markets. It's not because UK is bigger that it changed something about how a song is remembered.
And stop saying I'm With You is forgotten... because it's not. (it's more remembered than Sk8ter Boi that you say is not forgotten... ).

Sales : Let Go >>> Mis >>> Breakaway. LG outsold everywhere even in US (the matter of fact)
More memorable : SUBG was played more on some random clubs in UK (the matter of random)

nnn;
Avril has to thank RIHANNA for a top 10? RIHANNA, the one with 12 #1 singles in the States alone? RIHANNA, the digital queen?
SCREAMING.
Avril did nothing for the song except add some fuzzy/layered vocals. No one pays attention to it in the song. They're too busy screaming "Cheers to the fricking weekend"

Dont bring the her other successful singles here. It has nothing to do with the fact that without I'm With You, Cheers would have not existed. And Rihanna will has less 1 big hit. And i' sure Rihanna and the can earn quite alot money from that song

If a song / person is more remembered in a bigger market, chances are it will be more remembered on a bigger scale, it's not hard really.
I'm With You is forgotten though, maybe Rihanna put it back on the map, she's so generous, but it certainly was forgotten.
|
Wait, what?
And it's not because you say it's forgotten in the UK that it's forgotten in the whole Europe. In France, people don't really buy albums but as much as I know, France's population is bigger so it doesn't mean anything at all.
And when will you stop saying that because a song is not played on radios anymore that it is forgotten? I haven't heard/seen on TV We Are The Champions this year, is it forgotten?
I'm With You is so forgotten the biggest part of the people that watch a Rihanna song talk about I'm With You. If they didn't remember the song, they wouldn't even know it's an old song/would think it's a new part of Cheers/wouldn't recognize it's an Avril song. They heard it, they recognized it.

Too bad that it's not the case (featuring + 7 albums in 7 years, don't you think it's a little easy?).

Avril is very irrelevant has nothing to do withe the fact she helped the other girl to score another Top 10 hit. And maybe even Top 3 if she hadnt released it after 2 flop singles and killed it with WFL

Back on topic cuz Rihanna has the gurls bothered once again,
Let go had the most sales. I'll attest to that. BUT the IMPACT and LONGEVITY of Breakaway is undeniable even in the current decade. With that said, I'm out.

Reported? My God, if it's you who did it, you're such an hypocrit considering you're the one who brings the #1's and the "Digital Queen" thing on topic, if you want to start playing with the report button, then I will start doing the same thing too.

Talking about the opinion without proof. Breakaway has zero impact in music while Let Go started a trend and made pop/rock became the most popular genre last decade.
And bye. Be sure you wont post anything here as you said you were out.

You're saying things I did not say.... I didn't say France = Europe, I'm just saying the size of the music market =/= population.
And well, it's been a while I didn't hear WATC (it was just an exemple btw, we could do the same thing with another song that is considered as a classic), I don't see where it got played but whatever.
And what do you mean when you say: "Most people probably think that sample is from Rihanna and not from Avril" considering they immediatly think of I'm With You/Avril?

Have any proof about the whole Europe besides some random clubs in UK ?

Just read the comments on Youtube, Cheers is more discussed for the I'm With You sample than for the song itself...

I didn't mention clubs in that post? That was in a different post referring to the UK. Please stop taking my comments out of context in your attempt to prove me wrong. When I mentioned clubs it was in reference to SUBG still being played / relevant in the UK, not in reference to Avril's irrelevancy in Europe.
|
Yeah, Avril must thank Luke for all that negative react
Girls, what am trying to say is this thing is so subjective because we cant measure the memorable and the impact thing. You havent heard any mention of Let Go simply because you are not interested in her and probably missed all the article that mentioned her. And some people you know, some clubs you got in, it's so random. It's midnight here and my phone is almost out of energy, i dont want to fight anymore. The conversation started to got out of control. Peace ?

Avril could easily hit all the notes on Breakaway and if you don't think it would be the case, maybe you should listen to her ballads.
