The problem with this video is exactly that, though. It's trying to look like it had a big budget (maybe it did), but it doesn't pull it off. It looks pretty much like any other Dawn Richard video.

It's a song for Star Trek what were you really expecting sis? I don't think they were trying to make it look that way or the special effects would be way more over the top Rih has no problem making her videos a big deal.

I think the video has a loose and open ended narrative that it's pretty much open for any type of interpretation. But it does look like she's conjuring up some type of power (hence her smashing the ground) transforming herself into a whole Galaxy/universe/planet.
