I dont think it's really that reliable. mediatraffic said that e.t sold only 5.3 million worldwide while it already sold 4.9M,2011's end. and I can name more countries where she sold more.

you still don't get it do you? riri didn't even sell that much before GGGB. GGGB was her breakout album.afte that, she has been an established artist. same to Katy, TD is her breakout album and hopefully,she will sell more in her next albums.

Mediatraffic and Musichart are the 2 most reliable sites for WW sales, you can choose your poison either way.

And the reason why Rihanna sales WW are larger are because she made songs that appeal to other countries and the US, while Katys songs scream out US pop music and US radio eats up that kind of music! its obvious why Katy outsold in the US, and obvious why Rihanna had sold similiar world wide with less smash singles. Plus Rihanna is more established on her 5th album so people expect hits from her so they buy her whole album knowing they are getting their moneys worth. While Katy is only on her second album and people thought the album would probably only have around 3 smash singles like OOTB, so the people thought they should just buy the singles cause it would be cheaper. BUT they thought wrong cause six singles in and all were a smash!!

Maybe it's the most reliable because it's one of the only WW sources? Look it said TD sold 239,000 in its first week. It sold 192,000 in the US alone. Are you real suggesting that it sold less than 50k outside of the US?

She's local, so I wouldn't be surprised. Either way, though, WW sales are incredibly difficult to track so you can't expect perfection. Use your head.

She sold over 50K in the UK, over 140K in Australia. With just those two countries I almost doubled MT's estimate. When I can double WW estimates with just 3 countries it should be considered irrelevant. I don't expect perfection, but what's the point in using it if it's that far from accurate?
