This was really rude though, I don't think I would ever have the courage to insult somebody in person like that, I mean a celebrity. It's one thing when you make jokes on the internet but this is really mean especially because she was so nice with the fans.

Guys like I said before, it's legal/unwanted affiliation issues, not the fact that Katy was offended. I don't know if she even got the shade because as you can tell by her demeanor she wasn't acting offended at all. I don't think Katy's afraid to at least be shady to a hater if she realized it but she wasn't.

She specifically said "it's not like it's a policy or anything, I just know about that stuff [people making fun of me for not having a Grammy]"

So it's really not like a legal thing. She is an American, she can write her name on any picture she wants to. She just doesn't want to feed into the negative energy her haters give off.
