Year of release: 2012, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - Korean, Album - Touch (2012)
So this came up on Pandora, on a station I made that will remain nameless for now, and I was like "WaiT! ", so I went and looked it up on YouTube. The only thing that I don't like about this song is the lack of a great breakdown...or a breakdown at all. I don't think this song even has one. I can't tell. I know JYP can do better.
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Till Death Do Us Party (2014)
I'll just say this now: I've never watched an episode of Drag Race in my life. I've seen bits and pieces of it, but never a full episode. With that said, it was thanks to my friends Scene. and DripDrip that I found out that Adore Delano existed. Heck, I didn't even know what Ru Paul's Drag Race was before them. I heard the name, but I didn't know the premise of the show. Anyway, when Adore's debut album came out, they were both excited for it, and I was also curious, as I'd heard iTunes snippets beforehand, and they were pretty good! Luckily, Adore did not disappoint. They actually served one of the best albums of the year, in my opinion.
This is definitely a good track, just not a high point for me.
Year of release: 2013, Genre(s): Drum & Bass, Language(s) - English, Album - Cannibals (2013)
Well, I first heard this song in one of those random 1 hour long music playlist videos on YouTube, and I was like "Hey this is pretty cute.", so I looked it up and listened to it a bit more. I don't really know what else to say about it, other than it's a bit repetitive lyrically, so it really depends on the instrumental to carry the song. It probably isn't the song for you if you are a lyric person.
"When I go outside, I see the sunlight. Could it be too late for me to come back down?..."
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Mamma Mia (2014)
I don't typically like guitar-led pop songs as a rule. They make me want to puke. It's basically saying "I don't care about my artistic integrity, and I just want to smash on the radio!", but I made an exception for Darin. Last year, I was slightly obsessed with his "Exit" album, or at least the dance tracks on it, so I figured I would give this song a listen. I was...mixed. On one hand, I thought this was part of a soundtrack to a movie called Mamma Mia or something, so I was relieved it wasn't. However, I was disappointed to find it was a guitar-led pop song. Darin's voice makes me melt, though, so it's okay.
"Pulling me close with her eyes, my body is losing control..."
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Riot (2014)
So this came as a bit of a shock to me. Last year, I became OBSESSED with the song "Something Like a Party" by School Gyrls - so much so that I ended up watching the School Gyrls movie on YouTube and ended up finding all of the original members' Twitter accounts and following them. I didn't really think any of them were still making music, though - I was proven wrong when Mandy tweeted about this song! Maybe it's because I've developed such a heavy bias for all of the girls through that song alone, but I instantly loved it.
Oh, and she happens to have an EP coming out in January 2015. You can bet I will be promoting the ever living **** out of it.
*Although Mandy Rain will not be charting again, her old group School Gyrls will. However, she had left the group by then*
ARTIST HIGH SCORES
__________________________________________
So day 4 lasted for like 10 mins, but I woke up at a really odd time. Anyway, today's winner is Mandy Rain, who Rioted her way to the top with 20 points. Darin and Prophet of 7Lions come second with 19, and filling the Top 3 is Mediks. Adore Delano and Miss A compose the bottom 2 for today, but Adore Delano has at least one more entry on my year end, so what will that do for Adore's chart position? Guess you'll just have to keep watching to find out.
Here's a quick overview of the high scores as of now:
Mandy Rain - 20
Darin/Prophet of 7Lions - 19
Mediks - 18
Adore Delano - 17

I'm not trying to sound like a pretentious hipster or anything, but I've been moving away from mainstream music ever since the dance pop craze died out. I guess I wasn't ready to let go, so I went looking for that type of music to keep me satisfied. That's why a lot of artists on here are irrelevant (That and I have really been trying to get over my "new music" phobia by listening to things I usually wouldn't.)

I'm going to be waking up at a really odd time, so I think I'll just post my #80-76 now before heading to sleep.
80. Mia Martina - Danse (feat. Dev) (Jump Smokers Remix)
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Electro Pop, Dance (Remix), Language(s) - English, Album - Danse (Jump Smokers Remix) (2014)
Okay, so there is a reason why this remix is here by itself - I don't like the original. I love Mia to pieces, but Danse was just not the tea. However, Jump Smokers ARE the tea, and they have improved so many songs for me. Come & Get It (Selena Gomez), Loved Me Back To Life (Celine Dion), and of course, this song among others. I think this was a needed remix considering the song is called "Danse", yet the original just was not all that dancey.
*Mia Martina will appear again on the countdown, no Dev tho*
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): R&B, Language(s) - English, Album - Aquarius (2014)
This is going to sound pretentious and hipster-ish of me, but I knew Tinashe before she blew up with 2 On. She used to be in a girl group called "The Stunners", and their music was VASTLY different to the stuff Tinashe does by herself. It was EXTREMELY generic electropop, and chile lemme tell you about the LIFE I got from that. Anyway, I was excited when I heard Tinashe was actually going to have a single sent to Urban radio because I did want her to take off. It took a while for 2 On to grow on me, but it did. It still doesn't compete with my favorite song of hers, "Chainless", but I've accepted that she won't be going back to that style.
Her current style isn't really my speed, but I wish her the best of luck anyway! She really deserves it.
