Ne-Yo "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)"
I'm not a big fan of Ne-Yo but I gotta give him credit when it's due. This song is the best solo single he's put out in years. Great lyrics, great beat and good video.
One Direction "What Makes You Beautiful"
I was very biased and I prevented this song from appearing in my countdown. It's not really bad and they're not as talentless as some people think they are. After all they all came from a singing competition. I wish they weren't so overrated though.
Nelly Furtado "Parking Lot"
Oh Nelly you're a bloody mess this year. I almost feel sorry for her to be honest. Parking Lot was just the cherry on top of a big pile of flops. For what it's worth I think the song is quite catchy, it sounds like a very dated 2008 song though.
Jason Aldean "Take A Little Ride"
Jason Aldean keeps prooving he's a staple in the current country music scene. This song is not only one of my favorite country songs of the year but also one his best in my opinion. The video is yet to be available in my country though...
The Script "Six Degrees Of Separation"
It's funny how every single song by The Script gets old for me in less than a month. They always sound interesting at first listen and then I feel like skipping them everytime. This song is still in my playlist but I don't for how much longer.
Mary J Blige feat. Drake "Mr. Wrong"
R&B is in danger of extinction, Mary J Blige is one of the very few artists of this genre that I really like. I was jamming to this song in the early days of this year even though it's definitely one of her weakest singles to date.
Alex Clare "Too Close"
I have mixed feelings towards this song. First of all Alex is a rather unique artist, he has a great voice, nice lyrics and his songs are very artistic, but then why is he using dubstep in this song? No sir, that won't get you high in my list.
Olly Murs "Heart Skips A Beat"
I think this song is very funny and catchy but I don't reckon it was a great choice to promote Olly in the US. And I can't believe they actually recorded two music videos when the song was already flopping instead of releasing a new single.
Leona Lewis "Lovebird"
I wasn't going to include this song in this year's countdown but I'm sure I've played it like a 100 times already even before it became an official single. It's a very, very strong competitor for my #1 in 2013. I'm sure I'll get into details next year.
Avril Lavigne "Wish You Were Here"
One last round of applause for this song. It's my favorite song in Goodbye Lullaby and probably the only one I remember from that disappointing era. I really hope Avril knows what she's doing cause she can't really afford another flop era.
Thanks for your comments.
