Britney received a "not interested" for an Apple exclusive, although a booking at the festival was offered. Not even Spotify wants to invest, only offering Brit's team advertising on the platform upon release. Compare that to Gaga who was going to be given a blank cheque from Apple to promote her album exclusively and you'll see the difference. All about the MONEYY!

It's not the end of the road though, they'll just have to arrange some other deals. Hopefully the schedule stays the same.

Noteworthy person who is against exclusive deals is Gaga's ex-manager, so............. *cough* ARTPOP *cough*

Frank Ocean was able to sign a deal with Apple which secures the funding. The artists are the ones who have to create the material then tour endlessly to hopefully make some money off the product if they are lucky. The record company was mad they didn't get the money they thought they were going to get once Franks contract was up.

The only thing Gaga is losing out on is the possibility for EVERY banner for free (which is unnecessary). All the other stuff you mentioned is still 100% possible if Gaga/Apple want it to happen. The only thing that is blocked is for Gaga to give Apple an exclusive windowing period for the single and/or album. And that's actually a positive since most people who stream use Spotify, giving her a bigger audience and bigger streaming numbers.

Now she gets less promo and she needs to spend Interscope's money on different promo, so she 'loses' money for her campaign, and a lot of it.

All the things you mentioned (what playlists and concerts are you even talking about?) might cost a few thousands AT MOST. Not "MILLIONS"

Gaga has several of the highest-streamed female hits on Spotify. ARTPOP didn't do that well on streaming, but it didn't do that well anywhere else either.

Hit records usually do well on Spotify. So as long as Gaga has hits she'll do fine on streaming.

She probably skipped the VMAs because she had Apple Music promo lined up and now this has happened...

An AM exclusive isn't bad, they're the 2nd biggest streaming service and they actually pay a decent amount to the artist. It wouldn't hurt her (plus, the stuff usually only stays AM exclusive for like a day or two...).

I hope Universal give her a bigger promo budget seeing as they've ****ed her over...

An exclusive will hurt Gaga. If she's not a streaming artist, having her music on one service limits the amount of people that can potentially listen to her music. Having it on all services potentially increases the likely listeners, thus increasing the chance it'll have a stable streaming amount. Apple is not the biggest streaming service, and having it on one hurts her.
