by quick is probably meant those fast-food type of music singles, generic singles that are just being produced easily, just like majority of katy's discography - very generic, low quality, made for charts yet don't stand the test of time. basically all katy's song, she has no groundbreaking, game-changing, relevant songs.

Yet Firework is still selling 5/7k weekly, almost 4 years after it's release.

There's no need for this. Both are successful on their own way, and still relevant. Sadly we can't say the same about other pop girls. Katy is a Bey stan herself.

edit: katy only has better chart runs of her singles but not the impact. take a look at the impact of DIL, it's had a big impact on pop culture, bigger than any prism song.

and even partition had bigger impact than any of her videos.

If Beyonce did all of the things Katy was doing to promote she would be as far ahead of Katy as you guys expect her to be.

Roar was a huge single, but it wasn't huge enough to sell more than Beyonce who didn't have a smash summer hit....and this is early in her era. SELF-TITLED is filled with smashes just waiting to be released....

you're missing the point.
i'm well aware when katy made it onto the scene, it's been 6 years. less than 4 years ago she released TD and all of those songs are very forgotten and some of them sound very dated (like california gurls). despite huge succes of singles, they made no impact on the music in terms of evolving and setting new trends.
she always plays in the safe generic zone, she doesn't push the boundaries, her music doesn't evolve, she hasn't changed the pop music or made some change, difference, she just jumps on hot trends.

Ok? . In reality tho, Beyonce (while not even my fave) remains a superior artist by light years who will actually continue to have longetivity and be remembered for her talent. While Katy remains a bland, stock 'artist' which would be fine for her kind if it wasnt for the little to no performing skills and mediocre live vocals to say the least.
And lol if anyone made whatever thread I wouldnt be bothered by the results seeing as the don't affect my fave outside of this forum where she's currently thriving. But I'll stop now
