|#11 Adam Lambert, "Whataya Want From Me" Released: November 20, 2009 Favorite Lyrics: Just don't give up, I'm working it out
Please don't give in, I won't let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me?
"Whataya Want From Me" is a song that you can put your own meaning to it and listen to it as a song that will help your self-esteem, your relationship issues or figuring out your identity. Adam really captures the lyrics and the emotion perfectly and I feel like it was the right timing for him to release this song after his AMA performance. I'm sure every male AI winner would kill to have this as their first single.
|#10 Usher Featuring Jay-Z & Ester Dean, "Hot Toddy" Released: August 9, 2010 Favorite Lyrics: They call me King Hov, copy?
Big ballin' is my hobby
So much so they think I'm down with the Illuminati
My watch do illuminate
My pockets are naughty
But I'm god body, y'all better ask somebody
One of the sickest beats and sexiest song of the year, it draws you in immediately. Usher's delivery was great, this fits his swagger and voice perfectly, Jay-z was also a great addition, who freaking nailed his rap and Ester Dean wrote yet another HOT-HOT song. My only complaints are that Ciara would not be on the track as planned and the fact that there was no music video. I mean, I think they would've been a force... a sexy one at that.
|#9 Lady GaGa Featuring Beyoncé, "Telephone" Released: January 26, 2010 Favorite Lyrics: Not that I don't like you, I'm just at a party
And I am sick and tired of my phone ri-ri-n-ging
Sometimes I feel like I live in Grand Central Station
Tonight I'm not takin' no calls
'cause I'll be dancing
Tonight I'm not takin' no calls
'cause I'll be dancing
Lady Gaga and Beyonce... two of the biggest pop divas teaming up making the killer dance track of the year. The hook and the chorus are so memorable and catchy, you won't forget. Beyonce also stomps on this track with her sassy attitude.Video was epic and so was the dance routine between the two, nice to see them go at it. Just a dangerous track Gaga.

|#08 Usher, "There Goes My Baby" Released: June 15, 2010 Favorite Lyrics: I love the way that you be poking it out
Girl give me something to feel on
So please believe we gone be twerking it out
By the end of the night baby
Wow, third set in a row of King Usher. "There Goes My Baby' is without a doubt his best single from the RVR era. The way Usher delivers the lyrics is just PURE sexiness, but at the same time it still is a cute and sweet song for two lovers ('I've been waiting all day to wrap my hands
Around your waist and kiss your face'). Awwwww.
It's a great song to play to show how much you appreciate the person you call your 'boo'.
|#07 The Temper Trap, "Sweet Disposition" Released: June 11, 2009 Favorite Lyrics: A moment, a love
A dream aloud
A kiss, a cry
Our rights, our wrongs
All of the songs from 2009 that made this countdown have been from the 4th Q of 2009 (Ocober - December). But unlike the others this one is probably the oldest single to make the countdown. I've been playing it for that long. It's a great song to cool myself down. There's not much going on with the lyrics because it's repetitive but I think it's genius and straight to the point. I could listen to it and not get tired of it.
|#06 Miguel Featuring J. Cole, "All I Want Is You" Released: May 25, 2010 Favorite Lyrics: Cuz' being your friend is killing me softly
I hear voices
Wondering where I went wrong
It was my fault
And the wrong time I wonder so often
Regret get exhausted
Can you believe this nobody made it this far? J. Cole is the next big thing for Rap and I wish I could say that for Miguel, but he sure had me hooked on this song. It's fire. So simple, raw and emotional and it's all coming from his voice and his soul. You would think Amy Winehouse would sing this song had you just heard the beat alone. One of the best Adult-mainstream r&b songs this year.

|#05 The Black Eyed Peas, "Imma Be" Released: December 15, 2009
Video Rating: ***
Imma be brilliant with my millions
Loanin' out a billion, I get back a trillion
Imma be a brother, but my name ain't Lemen
Imma be ya banker loading out semen
"Imma Be" opens with the one and only Fergie-Ferg who brings sexiness and sassy-ness to the track immediately. Hips, one-handed flips and all...
She's later joined by will.i.am who brings in an urban beat that gives chilled and laidback vibes in the second verse. This part definitely had me grooving.
Imma be on the next level
Imma be rockin over that bass treble
Imma be chillin with my mutha mutha crew
Imma be makin all them deals you wanna do (hah)
Imma be up in that maylist flicks
Doin one-handed flips, and imma be
Sippin on drinks cause
All of a sudden the song transitions into a super fast pace record that you can dance to, that apl. de. also rips and closes the record. Right at the very ending the song shifts into a Jazzy electronic outra, which is like the cherry on top.
Imma be, Imma be, Imma be, Imma be
Imma be livin that good life
Imma be livin that good good
Overall; When "Imma Be" had leaked in earlier 2009 I was wondering what was this trash... but I've grown to understand the musicality and it soon became genius to me. No other song has had these kind of transitions in beats and instruments, no one fused pop, hip-hop, and jazz like B.E.P. did and no one used such a great sense of humor in a song that's about telling the haters to 'F' off and that you will become somebody someday.
This was the last B.E.P. song I've liked since THE END.
