There is more than UK and US in the world.
RITD and SLY each sold 500+K in Australia
RITD, SLY and Skyfall each sold more than 300+K in France
And if we go by IFPI sales counting then RITD sold additional 2M in South Korea( it had huge downloads after cover in local talent show).
There are many other markets where singles did really great, SLY and RITD are multiple platinum in all core markets except Japan.

Another important thing is that Adele's album 21 has sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide so far in 2013! It may seem like nothing compared to its sales in 2011 and 2012, but it's VERY impressive for sure.

Let's remember that the album has never been sold for less than $7,40.

If you were to look up the term 'worldwide slayage' in a picture dictionary, Adele would be the definition.

She remains getting them coins while doing little to no promotion whatsoever - which makes her achievements even more remarkable. Especially in countries like New Zealand (I believe '21' holds the record for the longest weeks at number one on their charts in its history) where she hasn't even set foot in. If she carries on selling at this rate, '21' will pass the 30-mil mark late 2015, I reckon. I reckon '21' will be one of, if not the, last album to sell this amount in the 21st century.

Selling over 20 million is a lot in any decade no matter how you put it. Its not like everyone was selling that much.

Yeah, I think you're right, looking back. I think she would've passed Music Box ('21' is literally one spot behind her on the all-time Mediatraffic album chart; not that mediatraffic is a definitive reliable source) and given Shania a run for her money.

I find it hilarious "the fad" is STILL selling 3 years later despite doing absolutely nothing.

EDIT: The fact 19 sold more, because of 21, than almost every album released in the past 3 years...

What are her overall sales? Has to be about 80-85 million records sold WW (counting the RAH DVD and the singles sales of 19 as well as the albums sold pre-21).

Music Box is the next album ahead of 21 on the United World Chart All-Time Chart of best selling albums. It doesn't list the exact number of sales between the two, but it is likely only around 1 million ahead.

21 is the only album ever that is owned by both my grandparents, my parents, and myself. I didn't even give them copies for the holidays or anything. We all discovered it on our own. I think it's very neat that an album would appeal such a wide range of age groups.
