Now, if we combine this post, and your previous post, we will get that: VMA performance=cherry on top of the bad press and bad press=bad sales. So according to your logic VMA performance was one of factors causing bad sales for Blackout. and thats what I said and after that I got criticized heavily.
So, um, you're contradicting yourself? This whole argument has been about Britney's bad press and how it messed up the Blackout era. You've been trying to convince me that the VMA performance should have upped her sales. Now you're telling me that it hurt her sales. Which is it?

sorry? I said that "VMAs performance made people to refuse to buy her album". That was said more as a joke, but still I added some serious sense to that. Right after that, people attacked me and told me that there was no way it could have hurt sales (including you) (I wouldn't say you attacked me, I'd say you disagreed with me on that), but later, in your other posts you said that 2007 VMA performance added oil to the fire to her bad press, which in turn caused her bad album sales. So if we follow your logic, her VMA performance did hurt the sales (indirectly but still). am I missing something here? if yes, please point it out to me
Color me confused, I don't think I ever said the VMAs helped her sales. I'm on my phone so it takes a really long time to go through pages, if you could quote me directly I'd appreciate it.

its just that when I posted a comment referring to that VMAs performance you asked me to STOP RIGHT THERE. So I figured you were disagreeing with me on the whole post. But if you are saying that you didn't mean that about the VMAs perfoamance and were disagreeing with me only about the quality of the album, I'll take your word for that.

We all know her performance affected the album sales, so why are you arguing?

No... yeah, I was talking about the album. You said something along the lines of how it didn't sell well so you question its quality. You've never heard it eh?

Uuuugh, how ANNOYING you are! :-/ You contradict yourself because you say bad press is press and Britney got a lot of that during the Blackout era, so you wonder why it didn't sell well, that it must be a bad album if it didn't sell even with so much 'promo'. THEN you say the bad press, especially the VMA 2007 bad press, hurt her sales, that's why it didn't sell. So, make up your mind: is bad press good or not? Gosh, BAN PLEASE!!
As for bad sales, let's talk Pink: "Try This" is a big fat flop, especially when we remember it was released in 2003 and following the HUGE success that was "Misundaztood"; "I'm Not Dead", her BEST album in MY opinion, barely sold a million in the US, and it had at least TWO big hits. So considering it only sold a million, it is a bad album? You're a joke. You probably never heard ANY Britney album as a whole and you question their quality and say they suck. Please save our sanity and stop hating when you have close to ZERO good arguments or reasons - AKA get a ****in' life for Heaven's sake!

LMFAO, what? Don't act like you don't know I was talking only about the US sales, and it sold a lot less than a million there. And we can't know for sure how many copies an album sold worldwide, although, if you're right, 3 million is NOT good considering all I said before.
Anywayz, stop trying to make this a discussion about Pink. I wasn't questioning anything considering her success or talent until that hater started attacking Britney - and you quickly jumped in to help him on that. Don't be a child, Charlie.
Wasn't trying to do that, just telling you that it didn't flop.
Damn dude, why ur so rude now?
Chill out.
3 million for an album released in 2003 is low. Other albums released the same year like "Dangerously in Love" & "In The Zone" sold 8 million and 7.5 million copies.
You said that Circus is a "failure" and that album has sold 3 million copies in 2008/2009 but "Try This" sold 3 million in 2003 (more than five years ago when sales were way bigger) and you said it wasn't a flop? You're not making any sense.

Rude? Because I think you're acting like a childish hater? Check your posts. Check your out of place comparisons and "Circus is a flop", "Her videos are awful" and "Britney sucks now" lines and you'll understand me. That may be your opinion, but if you want to say what you want, you're gonna have to hear things you don't want to.
As for "Try This", it is indeed a flop. Three million worldwide for 2003 would already be a big failure, and it only becomes worse when her previous work had sold 12 million worldwide and over 6 million in the US alone. I won't even mention how her singles from that era performed.
OK, I will state my opinion right here as clear as possible, so I hope people won't get too confused again:
My theory is that, any type of promo related to the personal life (bad or good) can be beneficial for the artist, as it rises his/her popularity and awareness in people's minds. But, when people are watching a performance of that same artist on TV, or wherever, and see that performance can hardly be even called a performance, they will definately question the artistic capacity of the artist and might refuse to buy the album.
and Britney stans love to call me a "hater". first of all, lets start by saying that this forum is full of really hateful comments in regards to other artists from Britney fans. Also, mostly my point in all of these arguments is that its disgraceful for any artist to Lip-Sync during his/her shows. and you are calling me a hater for that? do you not agree just because your favorite artist is doing that? and if you look over my posts, I haven't attacked Britney personally (I haven't called her dumb, ugly etc. I'm only questioning her possibilities as an artist), like a real hater would do.
^You really don't get it. Not in this thread in particular but overall I have seen you mention--and subsequently put down--Britney Spears at least a half-dozen times with no provocation from fans. Now, maybe you have changed, but on this site that is a hater... a troll, if you will.
Anyway, Britney has never tried to pass herself off as an artiste so that argument doesn't hold water. Nobody expected a brilliantly-choreographed live-sung spectacle. Granted, nobody expected what happened either, but I don't think it changed anybody's mind in buying her album.

with no provocation from her fans? sorry, but I have to disagree with you on that. As you know I have gotten into arguments with Britney fans previously and I might have said something unapologetic about britney, only after her fans would call P!nk stupid etc. (laler adding that they love her, which is very hypocritical), or even go on and personally attack me.
and regrding the second paragraph...so she's not expected to sing live ever, she's more famous for her personal life, the media follows every step of her. I don't know who we are talking about - a musical artist, or Paris Hilton? why would you not expect a best-selling female artist of the decade to sing live? if her fans would have been a little bit critical of her and not showing her this unconditional love, she would have been pressed to try a little harder and give the fans the amazing spectacle WITH live singing. and "haters" like me would have nothing to criticize her about.
