My best friend is straight. He's more feminine than me. He's a very emotional person and loves shopping more than I do.

I have lots of straight guy friends, and they range in personality just like everyone else. Some are more in touch with their emotions than I am, others aren't.

I find straight guys are usually less emotional and "deep" on the surface because they're very concerned with how they appear to other straight guys and girls. Moreso than girls and gays. They usually stick to the formula of what a straight guy should be and only open up when they know they aren't competing.

It actually works quite well for them to befriend gay guys because they're all men (no female enigma), but there's no competition and no expectation for them to act a certain way. They can like a pop song or talk about their feelings with no judgement. Plus there's no girl there to impress/flirt with.

In turn, gay guys seem to really respond to when straight guys are comfortable and chilled enough to have gay friends. Girls do too.

I have a lot of straight guy friends. they're a nice break from gay guys and girls, they're usually laid back and relatively "simple".

with that said they're also consistently more racist/homophobic than my other friends, so y'know. trade-offs.

Lol, I have a couple straight friends but it's not like I see them every week though.
Whenever I see them however we always have a lot of fun, it's not awkward at all because they simply don't care about laughing at gay people and stuff like that.
They're mature people.
And that's also why they dare to talk about problems etc. to me.


So I don't know, I don't find them weird at all but when gay guys say that about straight guys than it's probably because the straight ones are macho and try way too hard to be manly.
It's not really against straight guys in general.

I have a handful of pretty close straight guy friends. I love how easy they are and that I won't have to worry about stepping on someone's toes when we talk about certain subjects. I do find myself becoming better friends with geeky girls with a fashion sense though.
