Yes, she is. People focus on the commercial pop songs as if she doesn't have hip hop songs where she delivers, features where she makes the song a hit and she is a decent vocalist without autotune...just check out her live performances of Fireburns, save me, and marilyn monroe.

However, as pointed out before Missy came out where Female rap was commercially at its peak. You can be innovative when you have many that can follow you in the game...Nicki is the only prominent female so we have to see what happens when, or if, female rappers get back in the game.
In the meantime, Nicki is carving her own lane out showing up and comers how to get noticed and brand yourself into a businesswoman outside of just music...which is why most female rappers end up broke. they sign bad contracts. Nicki signed an amazing one. They try to cater just to the hip hop heads for cred and then they end up back on romen noodles.
Nicki does rap, features, pop, dance, r&b and sings.
She headlines her own tour, has a fragrance, a successful lipstick line and is branding herself into a clothing line and wig line after that.
She will open a charity in her name and probably do jewelry, swimsuits, alcohol line and some acting, tv production etc. Also has a record company with her own production team.
She has carved her own lane and she will show the potential of what could be for other female rappers if they are smart enough to brand themselves.
