You have a point, but now that I think about it, I can't get it how Bieber wouldn't know about shawn...

From my prespective, I am sure that Shawn's team have contacted Bieber's team at one point or another + Shawn tweeting bieber to hang out in 2012 / 2013 (which shows Shawn was interested).

Managers always do that, it doesn't make sense that the guy who became the youngest artist to top BB200 since Bieber in 2010 wouldn't have contacted Bieber to meet and make a picture etc. and possibly talk about music...

And Bieber's team as well. They HAVE to be aware of anyone who is young "bieber like" star with a huge teenage following.

So it's indeed a lil fishy, but who knows..

The thing is, even if he doesn't know who Shawn is, that was such a rude way to acknowledge it. He literally didn't have to acknowledge it at all, they didn't ask him specifically about Shawn....he had to have known how it sounds to say "Who's Shawn Mendes?". I'm surprised someone who has been doing this as long as Justin has wouldn't be able to think that.

they did kinda ask him specifically about Shawn, but he seemed a bit shocked when the interviewer laughed so i don't think he was saying it the way people are assuming
