It is a two second snippet but from the way people are talking you would think it is a full song.

Also it's the first single and the point of a first single is too try and sell the album by appealing to a mass audience. Yes the tone is upbeat and catchy but it is the first single.

I can't believe how pressed these people are LOL. It was a 4 second snippet of her saying 'Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh' twice. Can everyone take a seat and wait until the actual song?

Would love to have been able to judge Burqa based on 'The gorgeousness of my face' alone. If I were like you guys I would've hated the song instead of listening to the whole thing and actually really enjoying it.

It's a legitimate point though. All three of these previews have been about her literally killing her Teenage Dream image but this preview (so far) shows little or no change from that sound.

And it's not like I'm so Katy hater or anything. Her, Ke$ha and Gaga are the only three artists whose entire discography I have on iTunes. I just felt like her TD songs (minus the title song) didn't age as well as many of the songs on OOTB for me and I had heard her stans hyping that she was going back to her OOTB roots with this album, so I'm a little disappointed by the snippet.

Of course, I suppose the song could sound drastically different in the other parts, but for now it just sounds like typical Top 40 Dr. Luke.

But even OOTB had top 40 fodder, so even if this song is generic it doesn't mean the entire album will be.

Some parts of your post are reaching too far. You're already assuming the song is generic and talking about the album as a whole. You really can't judge the song at all at this point.

And Katy will not make an album like OOTB again, I don't think. The top 40 on OOTB was added when she got signed to Capitol, where they introduced her to Dr. Luke. Teenage Dream was crafted to make her a star, and I don't see wanting to get any smaller. This album is probably full of hits.
