I really ****ing like Uma Thurman, it helps that they reference Uma of course. Usually I don't really feel their music but this song has something really good.
Is it just me, or are there like no songs on here that really STAND OUT? Like on Save Rock and Roll, I think The Phoenix and Alone Together are some amazing tracks that I seriously can't get enough of. I feel like American Beauty/American Psycho is lacking tracks like that.

I think The Kids Aren't Alrght, Uma Thurman, and Novocaine stand out for being kind of different compared to the other songs.
SRAR has The Phoenix, Just One Yesterday, and Death Valley for me that stand out. I'd say they're about equal in quality to be honest.

I just feel like each song had its own identity moreso on Save Rock and Roll. The Phoenix stood out as the epic opener, Alone Together sounded like throwback FOB, Where Did the Party Go took on a slightly funky top 40 vibe, Just One Yesterday is the epic drum-heavy duet (closest to a ballad), Miss Missing You was another slice of top 40 pop with even sleeker production, Death Valley was super dancey (and featured a dubstep bridge), Young Volcanoes was the basic flop of the album.
On American Beauty/American Psycho, I feel like this kind of personality in the tracks is missing. Sure, Irresistible has awesome horns, but the chorus feels lazy. The title track is one of the few interesting cuts on the album imo, simply because it sounds totally different for the band and moves so quickly. Centuries is typical generic pop/rock, with a passable heeey-ey-ey-ah hook. Idk.

Speaking of TMF is has that God awful rap on it which immediately puts as worse than anything on AB/AP. Rat a Tat is kind of a clunker because the chorus really doesn't go anywhere. I'm not big on the title track either because of the way they try so hard to make the chorus epic and it just doesn't happen.
So even with the duds on AB/AP (Favorite Record, Twin Skeletons), I still think it's on the same level quality wise because it's a bit more cohesive and features less flops.
