okay but the way we talk about minorities sets the tone for how they will be treated. a lot of discrimination is coded in language

using the term "tranny" or "she-male" reduces a marginalized identity to the butt of a joke and treats trans and non-binary people as something to be laughed at

calling someone a "thug" has strong racial implications and it should be called out

saying "undocumented immigrants" instead of "illegal aliens" or just "illegals" (both of which Fox News is guilty of) sets the tone for how we talk about the issue of immigration

these things are just semantics and liberal nitpickery - the language we use to describe something reveals a lot about our underlying feelings on the subject
