Bom's incident happened 3 years before it became news and was only released somehow to cover up the government scandal going on in Korea at that time.
Tzuyu of TWICE had an equally career-ruining scandal that could of ended the whole group, but JYP handled it well and they've had two successful comebacks since then. Tiffany of SNSD also had a politically-infused scandal a few months ago, but SM didn't leave her defenseless and now netizens are back on her side.
Instead, YG debuts a new group with singles that sound like 2NE1 were supposed to record them and with one singer singing identical to Bom's style then they come around 2 months after debuting them like "Oh, 2NE1 broke up. We can only have one female group at a time, obviously."
