She reminds me of a 17 year old Avril Lavigne at the start of her career. Avril went through this same scrutiny with the Britney name dropping along with all the teen "pop" stars in 2002. When a singer is a teenager, they are so young that they don't realize the grand scheme of fame. They aren't self-aware of what they are saying and how you can't say everything that's on your mind when you're famous. And like Avril, Lorde is also very shy and introverted where both do a lot of thinking to themselves, so they come off as being "bitchy", when really it's just a matter of being opinionated.

Taylor ISN'T good for young girls though. She teaches girls to base their value on how desirable they are to men, that finding a boyfriend is the most important thing a girl should focus on, and that any girl who is dating a boy they like is a ****. You all can be as mad as you want at Lorde, but she speaks a LOT of truth. She might not be the most well-spoken sometimes, but I applaud her for being forward with her beliefs and calling out the problems in the music industry.

If that's the case, then why do I see tweets every now and then from young Taylor stans, who are girls, saying "Thanks to Taylor for making me realise there's more to life than boys." And that "not to accept to be treated less than nice"? Like, girl, listen to Her advice on "Fifteen" for example! Read the lyrics sheet!

What she says about other artists isn't even bad tho. She never specifically attacks an artist, she simply criticises content in specific songs. Lorde literally called Taylor Swift "flawless" and yet somehow everyone's angry.

Same with Lana Del Rey and Selena Gomez, Lorde never actually trashed them; just talked about "Without You" and "Come and Get It", respectively. It mustn't be fun being so angry at a 16 year old all the time.
