Growers are perfect for singles later on in eras, especially for 5th single. It's the instant hits that you want to use within the first 2-3 singles, and then the later ones can be the growers once the album has been out for a while and fans start to like them. I really don't know how it took you that long to enjoy the flawlessness that is "Animal", but whatever.
It would have been the perfect way to end the era, really. And, as a single, you'd be exposed to it a lot more through radio and the media since Ke$ha was pretty big back in 2010, so it'd probably grow on you a lot quicker than the damn Warrior era. I mean wth.
Oh, and thanks for clearing up the info. Imagine if "TiK ToK" never blew up... "Backstabber" was really going to be the second single? I love the song, but... it's definitely not second-single material.
