No offense, but I was scared she would drop dead any second while trying to hit the high notes It wasn't her vocal range at all, although I really like her and she has a great voice.
So I was thinking how the meaning of the album name AIEW is probably about how 1) the album encompasses a bit of every type of genre reflected by an album cover full of different colors 2) the glittery bubblegum-pop-looking imagery was used to contrast the dark imagery of MD and Kelly got snarky with the title, naming it AIEW to sarcastically say it's actually everything that her label wants (namely, Clive Davis) but not necessarily what she wants. I think she gained weight that era to strike back against them. 3) lastly, while it may seem she has everything she ever wanted on paper, she still hadn't found love or true happiness (like she has now) and there was still so much more she wanted in life that she hadn't yet found.
If you think about it, MLWSWY was a very smart move by Kelly. The name matches the album title in the sense that her life would suck without radio play and general public support (which she lost a lot of during MD). It's sort of a sarcastic way to say, while she hates Clive Davis and the pressures of being the biggest pop star, it's something she needs to do for her career's sake. I thought about how every song could be interpreted to fit the album's themes and how it's a lot more cohesive of an album for me because of that. Kelly is so much more clever and observant of her music, lyrics, and ultimately her career choices than a lot of people give her credit for.

Are people really telling me I'm doing too much on her arms and legs? Sure, she may not be able to control her weight but she can definitely tone up her arms. Hell, even Madonna has some bicep muscles.
This pic disturbes me so much It actually makes me sad because I'm sure Kelly had some problems back then. I still think she was depressed, she just seemed to have lost her glow, often looked so tired, stressed out and confused. I remember her Already Gone performance in this one late night show and she looked like she was about to burst into tears
