It depends on how explicit the image is and the context of which it was posted.
If you're weary about posting the image, but it pertains to the topic (assuming it's not sexually driven), use the warning tags:
[warning]image url (NOT EMBEDDED)[/warning]

Possibly. I guess it depends on how much farther you're derailing the topic by contributing to the banter, and if the moderator at work feels like your posts were deserving of a point. I'd suggest avoiding off-topic chat altogether.
