I'm halfway through Blown Away. I'm getting a sense Lyrically Blown Away has nothing on Play On, but I'm so bored and I'm waiting for 5 more songs like Blown Away. I don't think their coming
Listen to Good in Goodbye and Wine After Whiskey. Cupid's Got A Shotgun is awesome too.

CR is likely the one album that flows well in regards to the arrangement of songs.
Carrie has stated that album #5 as more story songs on it. It is a sure fire bet that there will be at least one religious type song on her album as she always includes atleast one
1. Cowboy Casanova 10/10
2. Quitter: The lyrics are basic, but I like the porduction of the song 6/10
3. Mama's Song: The lyrics are much better then the production, i would have wanted it a bit more stripped back 8.5/10
4. Change - Was this used for some campaign promo to donate to something? The production is good, I just got a cheezy vibe from the song since it feels very donate to charity. On Point production and the lyrics were great 7.8/10
5. Undo It 10/10
6. Someday when I stop loving you: I love the simplicity of the song. This is great! Now I will admit this is more worthy of an album cut, but its a really good album cut 9.5/10
7. Songs Like This: Production is good again. I liked the idea behind the lyrics she sang, but they didn't really go anywhere for me 7.9/10
8. Temporary Home: idk this song has a simplicity that I liked in its production and lyrics. idk. the lyrics are good too. 8.8/10
9. This Time: This song is cute as well, similar to SWISLY, but I like how flirtatious the song is 10/10
10. Look At Me: OMG this screams country #1. And they chose Mama's song well it was okay but it was still cute 8.6/10
Unapologize: At least the lyrics are seemingly deeper then some of the other songs, but I don't care for the production. 8.7/10
What Can I Say: The track's production and the beginning had me really interesting in what she was singing. Then the duet partner comes in, their vocals sort of balance each other out, but Carrie>>>>, she could sing with a better singing partner tho or given the male singer a better balance in duet lyrics 9.3/10
Play On: This reminds me of her earlier work for some reason, its lyrically better then Change and it doesn't come across as cheezy. 9/10
Blown Away Comments
Good Girl: I don't know why I didn't like Good Girl, lyrically its flattering for her, but ehhh idk, it was cool 8.7/10
Blown Away: confession, when this song came out I ignored it like the plauge . After starting to listen to country radio more often, I've realized this song is perfect for her vocals and production. I've also come to appriciate the song on country radio compared to some of the newer country songs (bar Luke Bryan's ) 10/10
Two Black Cadillacs: Maybe I like lyrics written by Josh Kear, he always does a solid job I didn't care for the production I can only be happy that her vocals were solid, but its not as intresting as even SYA. 7.8/10
See You Again: Another song I've heard on Country Radio as of recent. Lyrically, its simplier then the lead two singles (a trend I saw in Play On ) this song reminds me (production wise) of a Wasted 2.0. ehh. I would listen to this sometimes after this first listen, the oh's their impact 8.5/10
Do You Think About Me: This song has the sound that I want in more of Carrie's (and Luke's) songs. The chorus is such filler, but the verses are cute. This song is too cute 8/10
Forever Changed: the production was too slow, the way she tells the story about the changes the people she descibes is good, but it was just ehh. 6.8/10
Nobody Ever Told You: I like cute Carrie songs, well production wise anyway. But NO at the na na na's yeah the song was alright, I'm torn between the cute carrie sounding song but then the odd lyrics. idk: 7.1/10
One Way Ticket: Ooh a different sounding Carrie It sounds refreshing tbh I love the concept. I mean sure it would never see the light of day on country radio due to its production sound, but its excellent: 8.8/10
Thank God for Hometowns: The storytelling in the lyrics were good. I didn't care for the production as much. This time I actually liked the lyrics. so 7.7/10
Good In Goodbye: Same as the last song, the lyrics were a tad bit better, but the production was a tad bit better then the last song, so 8.3/10
Leave Love Alone: ehh 7.4/10
Cupid's Got A Shotgun: This is what I'm talking about. This is a bop. This is a way better song then the songs from Blown Away to this song. Production>>>>>
Lyrics>>>>
YEASSSSS!!!
9.3/10 (still has nothing on Blown Away)
Wine After Whiskey: OMG WHAT why did I get the better songs starting at track 11
I love the melodies of this song and the allusions in this song. 9/10
Who Are You: At least the song picks up for an ending track. This song is alright production wise and lyrically its okay. 7.7/10
Overall result
In a general consensus, in regards to Play On, I at least got both Bops and some meaningful ballads that I liked. In Blown Away one got a very ballad heavy album with fewer bops, but it had more deep and meaningful lyrics to it.
Average scores
Alright So in first averaging the scores of both albums:
Play On: 8.675
Blown Away: 8.2214286
What really killed my drive for liking Blown Away was the very laid back productions and the fact that the songs were ballad after ballad after ballad. The worst part I think was Blown Away (the song) was SO GOOD, the rest of the album pailed in comparison. Like Blown Away (the song) hit me that hard and I was just left disappointed in looking for more songs like Blown Away.
PLay On I did tend to like the songs justifiably more . I listened to Play On at first and was probably the most critical (looking at lyrics and geniually listening to the songs). I guess what was key was the production for some of the songs on Play On were on point with some other classic Carrie Underwood sounding songs which suited her voice rather well IMO.
Overall that's my thoughts on Blown Away and Play On (definitely has a quality that Crash My Party lacks in terms of overall albums. As for songs, Blown Away>>>>>> Now if their was 2 or 3 more Blown Away's I would probably become a full stan
Let me go listen to Blown Away some more (the song of course )
