I know it's all subjective and everything but as an album it didn't reach that level of total greatness of some of her others.
B'Day was a vast improvement for her. It had a unifying storyline, great flow, and very little if any filler quality tracks (Kitty Kat being the only one in my opinion and even that I love).
I don't think it's a coincidence that the albums she had the most creative control over (B'Day, 4 and BEYONCÉ are her best) whereas the ones that Matthew was more involved with (DIL and IASF) were more commercial focused.
