What performance are you talking about? I didn't even know there was one yet.
I don't bother if this song "underperforms". It's beautiful, the video will be epic + it's the favorite Katy's song off the album and, as we all know, she chose it. This would be not good for the haters that think she only make music for the charts.

I don't think any other song on PRISM will have that great impact as a second single in the beginning because ROAR is literally HUGE the first day it was released and still manages to hang in the top 3-5 on iTunes every now and then, that's why they can't just promote Unconditionally full force just yet. Anyway a #1 peak would be great for this considering 'The Monster' being a huge threat as well, but a top 3 is okay as well as long as there's longevity.
I repeat, they have not even begun the promotional campaign for this song yet, there's no reason to "lose hope"
Even if the song under performs eventually (which I doubt), Capitol won't let it go without a fight - as a Katy fan, you should know this by now!
I think some people believe that there won't be any promo, and that Capitol is just going to throw this out there and do nothing and then start the real promo again for single #3.
