Wanting to check your Pokemon's actual IVs instead of estimating (and most likely being incorrect/off) and using a program to spoof your location in order to gain an unfair advantage are two completely different things.

i don't think it's that bad. You sometimes have to collect hundred of candies in order to evolve certain Pokémon - that alone takes up a huge amount of time. The reward for the time you spent on doing so shouldn't be luck of a draw - that's just unfair considering that each one of the players are putting the same amount of effort in it but one could end up with a way more inferior Pokemon compared to the other

thinking about it now, Pokemon GO is the only game I can think of where leveling up punishes you
It doesn't really punish you though. Yes a bit harder to catch pokemon, but you have access to catching stronger pokemon so I think thats a fair trade off
it is against the TOS to use these types of applications though
